The time for this trek is 2 hours.
Back at the Lodge you can relax by the pool or in the hammocks on the terrace of your bungalow, savor an exotic cocktail at the bar, enjoy a relaxing massage by our qualified staff, visit our shop for a handcrafted souvenir of the rainforest or head to the riverside to view the breathtaking sunset.

Tour Taricaya Peru.
Visit Animal Rescue Center Taricaya: 8:30 am. Travel by boat (45-minutes) to the Animal Rescue Center Taricaya. This project, with its main office in the United Kingdom, collaborates with universities from all over the world who send their students to help as volunteers to take care of injured and rescued animals. The goal of the center is to reintroduce the animals back into their natural habitat.
We will find here different species of animals: the jaguar, different types of monkeys, tapirs, peccaries and some exotic birds, like the trumpeter bird. These animals are taken care of in order to heal them and return them to their natural environment. However, there are some animals that can no longer be reintroduced into their natural habitat for various reasons.
The project has a Canopy-Walk (a suspension bridge that rises to 42m in height and 90m in length, used for the monitoring of birds and observation of fauna and flora). There is a short walk to arrive to the Canopy-Walk. It will take approximately 30 minutes along an open path in primary forest.
After climbing the first tower of 14m, we walk on the suspension bridge (Canopy-Walk), ascending to a platform of 42m of height. Here one can contemplate the extraordinary sight at the level of the tops of the highest trees in the forest.
Around 1:30 pm. Return boat trip back to the Lodge for lunch, and a free afternoon to enjoy the recreational activities of the lodge, or other activities in coordination with your guide

After breakfast, we will return to the city of Puerto Maldonado by boat.
One of our vehicles will receive you at the port. After a short stop at our office, we will drive to the local market where the local population supplies itself with foods and other products.
